Harry Styles May Play Gay Policeman in Greg Berlanti's Next Film

The project is coming about "due to the passion" of producer Robbie Rogers.
Looks like singer Harry Styles may be lining up for his next movie role.
According to Deadline, the star is in conversation to lead a new Amazon adaptation based on the novel My Policeman. Styles could appear alongside Lily James, who is also In negotiations about a leading role in the project.
My Policeman is a queer love story mostly set in the 1950s. Styles is set to play a policeman named Tom who is in love with Patrick, a museum curator. While their love is real, in the time of the 50s, living as an out gay couple would have proven difficult, and Tom pursues a relationship with and marries Marion, a woman. Marion is expected to be played by James.
The majority of the story is a flashback to the 50s but is set in the 1990s as Tom and Patrick reflect on the life they have lived.

"I need to point out that this is all due to the passion of Robbie Rogers who read this book, fell in love with it, knew it needed to be a movie and made it so," Sarah Schechter wrote to Twitter about the announcement. Schecter is a superproducer who has worked on projects like Batwoman, DC Legends of Tomorrow, Riverdale, The Flash and more, She is the president of Berlanti Schechter Productions.
Schechter, Rogers, and Greg Berlanti will all serve as producers. They will be joined by Cora Palfrey and Philip Heard. The film could start production next summer.
The film isn't a first for Styles who appeared in Dunkirk and is set to appear in Don't Worry Darling. Styles has famously declined to label his sexuality. While he has only been publicly linked to women in the past, fans have pointed to his ongoing support of the LGBTQ+ community, some lyrics, as well as visuals like his "Lights Up" video in which he appears in a mass of nearly-naked bodies being nuzled by both genders, as signs that he is not heterosexual
