Is our favorite bisexual superhero showing up in another MCU movie?
It looks like that's the case, as a new set photo from the upcoming film The Marvelsseems to show Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie among the cast.
The image, shared by Zenobia Shroff, who will be playing Kamala Khan's mother Muneeba Khan, in the film, was part of a slideshow she posted on Instagram celebrating the year she had. In one image in the video, Shroff is in what appears to be a hair and makeup trailer for the film.
Behind her, you can see some of the headshots of fellow cast members, including one of Tessa Thompson, who's character Valkyrie had never been announced to be in the movie.

The image also appeared to show Lashana Lynch's headshot. Lynch played Maria Rambeau, Carol Danvers' queer-coded "best friend" in Captain Marvel. While her character has since passed, it looks like she'll be back at least in a flashback.
While nothing is confirmed, it looks like these two amazing women will be showing up, even if just for small scenes.
Back in 2019, Tessa Thompson announced at San Diego Comic-Con that in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, Valkyrie's first task as the new King of Asgard (as she was crowned in Avengers: Endgame), is "to find her queen."
“During their time discussing the fourth installment in the THOR franchise, Valkyrie (@TessaThompson_x) as King of Asgard first things to do is find her Queen. 🥰 #BETxSDCC #MarvelSDCC #SDCC #SDCC2019”— BET (@BET) 1563677191
We don't know who that queen is going to be, but we do know that fellow female characters like Karen Gillan's Nebula, Jaimie Alexander's Sif, and Natalie Portman's Jane Foster (who will also be picking up the hammer as The Mighty Thor in this film) will also be starring in the movie, so it could be any of them.
Or, it could be a still-unannounced actor in the film. Even Brie Larson's Captain Marvel has been rumored to make an appearance in the film, which will see the characters traveling through the universe.
Fans have been dying for Valkyrie and Captain Marvel to get together ever since Captain Marvel was released, shipping the two before they ever appeared on screen together. Thompson even said she was in favor of the couple, saying "I just think it's so cool and it's time, and why not?" when asked about the couple.
While that pairing remains highly unlikely, we can still hope that the two characters will get a chance to be flirty while on screen together. We'd love to see a friendship blossom between two of the MCU's strongest women. (After all, Thompson and Larson are great friends IRL!)
Thor: Love and Thunder is set to release July 8 of this year, with The Marvels debuting February 7, 2023.
