Antoni Porowski is bringing his Queer Eye expertise to the big screen!
Porowski is one of four new actors cast in Jim Parsons' upcoming film project from Focus Features. The film, entitled Spoiler Alert, is also gaining Tony Award winner Nikki M. James (The Book of Mormon), Bill Irwin (Rachel Getting Married), and Jeffery Self (Search Party).
Based on Michael Ausiello's bestselling memoir Spoiler Alert: The Hero Dies: A Memoir of Love, Loss, and Other Four-Letter Words, the film follows "the emotionally turbulent 11-month journey of Ausiello's former partner Kit, from his diagnosis with terminal cancer to his death. Interwoven in the narrative are glimpses of the roller-coaster ride that was the couple's 14-year romance."
The movie stars Parsons as Ausiello, out actor Ben Aldridge as Kit, and Sally Field as Kit's mother. It's being directed by Michael Showalter and was written by Ausiello, David Marshall Grant, and activist Dan Savage.
While Porowski is mainly known as the avocado-loving food and wine expert on Netflix's Queer Eye, but he does some some acting experience. He's had minor appearances in TV shows like Blue Mountain State and The Blacklist, and has appeared in independent movies like Daddy's Boy, Elliot Loves, and Blood Surf.
Spoiler Alert recently finished filming principal photography in New York, so we shouldn't expect Antoni to have a huge role. The film will be distributed by Focus Features and has no current release date.
This isn't the only project Porowski is working on. Apart from Queer Eye, he's also developing a new Netflix rom-com series titled Girls & Boys about his experiences dating both men and women. Black-ish creative Kenya Barris is developing the series alongside him.
