Looks like Velma has a new crush!

Velma may often lose her glasses, but she can spot a cute girl from a mile away.

Gay Twitter is freaking out over a clip of Velma having a crush on a female character in the 2022 animated film Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo!. Though fans have long speculated over Velma's sexuality, many hadn't seen any confirmation that she might actually be queer.

There's a very logical explanation for all this: Velma is queer, and that's not particularly new information if you've been following the Scooby-Doo canon for some time. In 2020, Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated producer Tony Cervone even spelled it out that Velma is gay.

Nonetheless, the clips below from Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo! have been making the rounds this week on Twitter.

A new Scooby-Doo spinoff series, titled Velma, is currently being developed at HBO Max by Mindy Kaling. Fans have been speculating for some time now that Velma will be queer on the show, but we all have to wait until the spinoff premieres in 2023.

Girls, gays, and theys have long been waiting for Velma to just come out already, and it seems like it's all going down between her appearance on Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo! and the rumors surrounding the upcoming Velma TV show.

Welcome to the family, Velma!

Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo is currently available on-demand for purchases or rentals. Velma is scheduled to premiere in 2023 on HBO Max.
