Harry Styles Warns Gay Sex Scenes in My Policeman Will Be Really Hot
Don’t threaten us with a good time, Harry!
Harry Styles will be torn into two directions as he plays a gay cop in My Policeman who is married to a woman but has a secret affair with a man.
During an interview with Capital FM, host Roman Kemp asked the "As It Was" singer about the sex scenes in his two upcoming films - My Policeman and Don't Worry Darling - and whether it was safe for him to watch those movies with his parents.
"I don't know if you can watch either [of them] with your parents," Styles declared. "I'm gonna have to do another one." Kemp pushed back and asked if these movies will include "saucy scenes" involving Styles.
"Yes," the former One Direction bandmate replied.
My Policeman is being adapted from a novel of the same name. The book, which was written by Bethan Roberts and published in 2012, is set in Brighton, England, in the 1950s - a period of time when homosexuality was illegal in the country. In the film adaptation, Tom Burgess (played by Styles) gets married to Marion Taylor (played by Emma Corrin) but also falls in love with Patrick Hazlewood (played by David Dawson). This creates a complicated love triangle that, given the historical context, could lead to criminal consequences.
The movie is being directed by Michael Grandage (Genius, Red) and adapted to the big screen by Ron Nyswaner (Philadelphia). The cast will also feature actors Rupert Everett, Linus Roache, Gina McKee, and Andrew Tiernan. The film still doesn't have an official release date, but it is expected to hit the theaters in the near future.
