Amandla Stenberg Lends Voice to New Laika Film
Amandla Stenberg is one of many actors cast in voice roles for the upcoming Laika stop-motion film Wildwood. Stenberg is joining Carey Mulligan, Mahershala Ali, Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Jacob Tremblay, Awkwafina, Angela Bassett, Jake Johnson, Charlie Day, Jemaine Clement, Maya Erskine, Tantoo Cardinal, Tom Waits, and Richard E. Grant in the movie based on books by The Decemberists' Colin Meloy.
Aubrey Plaza Joins Francis Ford Coppola Movie
Emily the Criminal star Aubrey Plaza is set to join the ensemble cast of legendary director Francis Ford Coppola's passion project Megalopolis. The film is about how "the fate of Rome haunts a modern world unable to solve its own social problems in this epic story of political ambition, genius, and conflicted love. The movie will also star Adam Driver, Forest Whitaker, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jon Voight, and Laurence Fishburne.
Brigette Lundy-Paine, Justice Smith, Phoebe Bridgers Starring in Thriller
Jane Schoenbrun's (We're All Going to the World's Fair) upcoming horror film I Saw the TV Glow has one of our favorite casts! The movie will star Justice Smith and Brigette Lundy-Paine alongside Helena Howard, Danielle Deadwyler, Amber Benson, Emma Portner, Conner O'Malley, Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst, Snail Mail's Lindsy Jordan, and Phoebe Bridgers. The movie "sees two teenage outcasts, played by Smith and Lundy-Paine, who bond over their shared love of a scary television show. However, the boundary between TV and reality begins to blur after it is mysteriously canceled."
Dyllón Burnside’s New Film Role
Pose star Dyllon Burnside has been cast in Caitlyn Sponheimer's feature directorial debut Wild Goat Surf, also starring Shayelin Martin and Leandro Guedes. The movie is set in a "rundown RV park during the summer of 2003" and follows "Goat (Martin), a 12-year-old, surfing-obsessed, prodigal skater girl over the unstructured days of the summer as she dreams of becoming a surfer like her deceased father, even though she lives 700km from the ocean."
Wallis Day to Appear in ‘Red Sonja’
While Matilda Lutz has been cast as the titular Red Sonja in the upcoming movie by Joey Soloway and Tasha Huo, Wallis Day (who replaced Ruby Rose as Kate Kane in Batwoman) has been cast as Annisia, Red Sonja's wicked half-sister. The movie also stars Robert Sheehan, Michael Bisping, Martyn Ford, Eliza Matengu, Manal El-Feitury, and Katrina Durden.
