Unique!
On Monday, October 2, Beyoncé announced the release of a concert film for the Renaissance World Tour. This movie will feature the creation and execution of Queen Bey’s latest tour, as well as behind-the-scenes moments and on-stage performances.
Titled Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé, the movie will chronicle Beyoncé’s journey from opening night in Stockholm, Sweden to a final show in Kansas City, Missouri. Overall, more than 2.7 million people attended the Renaissance World Tour over the course of 86 concerts.
Beyoncé’s upcoming Renaissance film is scheduled for a December 1 release in movie theaters. Advance tickets are already available for sale on major theater chains like AMC Theaters and Regal Cinemas.
“When I’m performing, I am nothing but free,” Beyoncé says in the official trailer. “The goal for this tour was to create a place where everyone is free and no one is judged. Start over, start fresh. Create the new. That’s what the Renaissance is about. At any point, they can close their eyes and be right back there and take it with them.”
She concludes, “I feel liberated. I have transitioned into like a new animal.”
The trailer includes appearances from Jay-Z, Blue Ivy, Tina Knowles, and Kevin Aviance, to name a few. Based on the footage, it appears that Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé will be structured similarly to 2019’s Homecoming concert film on Netflix – but this time with a wide theatrical release instead.
Needless to say, we couldn’t be more excited to experience Renaissance once again, but this time in theaters!
