Out got the chance to speak to the star about being a part of such a beloved animated superhero flick.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is currently slaying it at box offices all over the world!

Taking place after 2018's Oscar-winning animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Across the Spider-Verse continues the story of Miles Morales as he travels the multiverse with Gwen Stacy (who many LGBTQ+ fans think is a trans icon) meeting other Spidey heroes who help them deal with a new threat known as the Spot.

The film features a bunch of beloved, A-List talent like Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Luna Lauren Vélez, Jake Johnson, Jason Schwartzman, Issa Rae, Karan Soni, Daniel Kaluuya, Oscar Isaac, and Brian Tyree Henry, who we know and love from titles like FX's Atlanta and Marvel Studios' Eternals, where he played Phastos, 1/2 of the MCU's first explicitly gay on-screen couple.

Out got the chance to speak with Brian Tyree Henry (and co-star Luna Lauren Vélez) about playing the film's central "daddy" figure (he voices Miles' dad Jefferson), representation, and more!

Watch the full interview with Brian Tyree Henry and Luna Lauren Vélez in the video below!
