Cooper Koch became one of the biggest Hollywood stars after starring as Erik Menéndez on Ryan Murphy's Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story — which culminated in his first-ever Golden Globes nomination. Now, he's looking forward to his next big project.

So, what does Koch want to do next? According to a new cover story for VMan magazine, he'd love to star in the movie adaptations of several literary works. Koch even has a "fantasy list" of projects.
"Yes: Giovanni's Room, All Fours, and A Little Life," Koch said. "Those are the top three. I don't want it to sound like I'm conceited, like I can do whatever I want. It's more like... I just want to do things that I feel have meaning and purpose that I'm passionate about."
All three of the novels he named have queer themes. Namely, All Fours is a 2024 novel by writer and filmmaker Miranda July about a middle-aged woman having a sexual awakening.
A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara, which is considered a modern queer classic, was published in 2015. The novel is about four college friends who move to New York City and must overcome several obstacles — including the sexual assault of one of them. An audiobook version, narrated by Matt Bomer, was released in 2025.
Giovanni's Room, published by legendary author James Baldwin in 1956, tells the story of an American living in Paris who falls in love with an Italian bartender named Giovanni.
In the interview, Koch also continued to express his support for the Menéndez brothers and their pursuit of being released from prison.
"Erik teaches speech classes, yoga, and meditation, and they help people who have been through sexual abuse. They've gotten college degrees," Koch explained. "They've found a life in prison because they've accepted what happened to them, and they accepted what they did. That takes such courage and bravery and strength and time. I think for that reason they deserve to come home."
