We all remember where we were when we watched Camp Rock for the first time.
Back in 2008, preteens, tweens, and youth across America were singing along to "This is Me" and wishing they could become music superstars thanks to the Disney Channel Original Movie Camp Rock starring Demi Lovato, the Jonas Brothers, and Alyson Stoner.
Now, some of the stars are looking back on one of the most meme-worthy moments from the movie in the new documentary Child Star, which was directed by Lovato.
"Do you remember the keyboard scene?" Lovato teased Stoner in the documentary.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Stoner replied with a smile.
The "keyboard scene" Lovato is referencing is one where her character Mitchie sees the skills that another camper, Caitlyn (Stoner) has.
Stoner's character, who describes herself as "camper today, top selling music producer tomorrow" steps up to a keyboard in front of the other campers, busts a move, and goes crazy on the keys. After Caitlyn plays… some notes, the crowd nods along and Mitchie yells out, "She's really good!"
Stoner says that they didn't even know what the music was going to be when they filmed the scene, saying they "played a piano that wasn't plugged in on the day."
"I was like, 'That's what you showed?' I'm supposed to be a talented producer. That's what you played?!" Stoner said they felt when they saw the final cut of the Camp Rock film.
Lovato and Stoner are exploring their memories of working for Disney as children in the new documentary Child Star that also features interviews with Drew Barrymore, Kenan Thompson, Christian Ricci, JoJo Siwa, Raven-Symone, and more.
Stoner and Lovato also still remember some of the dance moves from the movie. "Why do I know this dance still?" Stoner jokes in the doc. "This is embarrassing. It lives forever in my cellular memory."
Child Star is now streaming on Hulu.
