Aaron Jackson and Josh Sharp are f*cking identical twins in the first trailer for their upcoming movie musical Dicks: The Musical!
The trailer starts by introducing Craig Tiddle and Trever Brock (Jackson and Sharp), two salesmen at the top of their games and the top of their lives. When they discover that they’re long-lost identical twin brothers, they set up a classic Parent Trap situation with their parents, played by Nathan Lane and Megan Mullally.
The only problems seem to be that their parents don’t like each other, their “lady boss” played by Megan Thee Stallion in her feature film debut, and the fact that their dad is gay and has two mutants in a cage he calls the Sewer Boys. “They’re not disgusting! They’re gay culture!” he says about them.
The official synopsis for Dicks: The Musical, A24’s first movie musical reads: “Two self-obsessed businessmen (writers Aaron Jackson & Josh Sharp) discover they’re long-lost identical twins and come together to plot the reunion of their eccentric divorced parents, in this riotously funny and depraved musical from comedy icon Larry Charles (Seinfeld, Borat) also starring Megan Thee Stallion, Nathan Lane, Megan Mullally, and Bowen Yang as God.”
You might know Jackson and Sharp from their hilarious guest appearance in Matt Rogers’ Christmas special Matt Rogers: Have You Heard of Christmas. Now, they’ve got a whole movie musical!
Dicks: The Musical, based on a stage show by Jackson and Sharp, will make its world premiere as the first film of Midnight Madness at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. It comes out in theaters on September 29!
