Whichever way they’re going, that’s where we’re heading, too!
Set in 1964, He Went That Way is a thriller based on a true story that follows 19-year-old Bobby (Jacob Elordi) getting on a car ride with celebrity animal handler Jim (Zachary Quinto), who happens to be accompanied by a chimpanzee named Spanky.
As Bobby and Jim move forward in their journey on Route 66, stress rises between them, and it doesn’t take long for their fiery personalities to clash. Throughout the film, however, Bobby and Jim do get to know each other better and also bond with Spanky.
Out has the exclusive premiere of a new clip from Went That Way featuring Elordi and Quinto bonding with the chimpanzee.
He Went That Way was written by Evan M. Wiener and directed by Jeff Darling. Unfortunately, the Australian director passed away in March 2022 at the age of 60 shortly after the film completed principal photography.
“Late nights, isolated petrol stations, dirt side roads, small town hotel rooms, and the strange small-town ballroom are some of the environments in our palette,” Darling wrote in a statement. “Our visual approach is derived from the story’s sense of the ironic, the connecting of disparate souls and the oddities of their individual situations. There is a sense of the absurd and playful, as being taken on this thriller journey you also fall for both these characters as they find a strange sense of kinship.”
