From final girl to... pop girl? When it comes to Hunter Schafer and her career, never say never!
The actress, who we've known and loved for years for being one of Euphoria's ensemble cast members, is taking on her first leading role in Neon's newest horror-thriller film Cuckoo, and besides putting on an amazing, gripping performance as a girl trying to navigate the weird, murderous vibes of a resort in the German Alps, we learned she also got to flex some other artistic muscles in the process by being a part of the film's musical experience!
Out got the chance to sit down virtually with Schafer, as well as co-stars Dan Stevens and Jessica Henwick, and we chatted all about what it was like for Schafer to lead a horror-thriller, how Steven's prepped to play a campy villain like Herr König, Henwick's love for her co-stars, and of course, Schafer putting her musician hat on for the film's soundtrack.

"I got to learn a few skills for this movie and one of them was playing the bass, which was really fun. I still do it," Schafer told Out about the musical skills she got to learn while filming Cuckoo. "Near the end of filming, Tilman and I recorded the song that she plays in the movie in a hotel bathroom. And it is, I think in single form somewhere. And maybe, I dunno entirely what the plan is with it, but I think it's going to be in the world at some point and I'm f*cking terrified."
