The cultural impact of Saltburn continues to work in mysterious ways.

Jacob Elordi swung by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this week only to discover its host had a smelly surprise for him—a candle based on the bathtub scene from Saltburn.

For those who haven’t seen the film yet, it revolves around a strange and obsessive friendship between odd bird Oliver (Barry Keoghan) and wealthy popular kid Felix (Elordi) after they meet at Oxford. Felix brings Oliver home with him over the summer to his family’s estate, where Oliver becomes increasingly entwined in their lives.

Spoilers ahead!

There are several scenes throughout the movie that audiences found shocking, including one in which Oliver spies on Felix masturbating in a bathtub and then sneaks in after him, slurping up the water as it runs down the drain. As disgusting as it might be, it clearly made an impression—and also led to a jarring number of candles sold online and purporting to be Jacob Elordi’s bath water-scented.

Elordi told Fallon he had heard about these, thanks to Priscilla co-star Cailee Spaeny. But the host upped the game and actually had one ordered so that the actor could check it out for himself.

“Do you want to smell your own candle?” Fallon asked. But Elordi didn’t just smell it — he full on pretended to slurp it a la Oliver himself.

How’d the internet do with that move? About as well as one might expect.

The Euphoria actor went on to admit that this particular candle smelled “like a washing room; like detergent,” although presumably with so many of these bizarre candles popping up across places like Etsy, there are plenty of different scents to go around.

Do any of them actually smell like Elordi’s bathwater? We may never know.
