With the release of Sony Picture's No Hard Feelings, fun is finally back in the box office!
Reminiscent of the raunchy, ridiculous, feel-good, R-rated comedies that were popular in the early aughts, No Hard Feelings stars Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence as Maddie, a broke, down-on-her-luck, 32-year-old bartender in Montauk, New York trying to raise the money to get her car back after it was repossessed to pay the property taxes on the house she inherited from her mother. And how does she go about raising the funds, you ask? By answering a Craigslist ad from two helicopter parents (played by Matthew Broderick and Laura Benanti) to date their extremely introverted, skinny, dorky, 19-year-old son named Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman).
Out got to chat with Jennifer Lawrence and Andrew Barth Feldman about bringing fun sex comedies back to the mainstream box office, playing messy characters, swapping the usual gender tropes of the genre, and more!
