What would Kate Winslet & the Lee cast be doing if they weren't actors?

The iconic actress and her co-stars Andy Samberg and Andrea Riseborough talk to Out about starring in the new biopic about model turned WWII photographer Lee Miller.

We all know Kate Winslet as an iconic, Oscar-winning leading lady, but what would she be doing if she had to make a sudden career pivot?

That's question we had for the beloved Titanic and Revolutionary Road actress, and her co-stars Andy Samberg and Andrea Riseborough, after starring in the new biographical drama Lee, which tells the story of Lee Miller, a fashion model who switched gears and became a celebrated photographer and journalist chronicling the second World War for Vogue.

"I was so inspired by Lee and I had to truly learn how to use that Rolleiflex camera," Winslett told Out when asked about if she had to make her own career pivot what she would pick. "I was really photographing all of the images as we were recreating them within our film, and it had to feel like an extension of my arms. Even though using it is incredibly detailed, changing the roll film is very, very difficult. I was the only one who could do it, but I really did love using a camera and learning the power of visual storytelling in that capacity. So I feel I would probably do something with cameras for sure."

"I would throw my hat in the ring for food critic," Samberg said of what he would pivot to. "That's fun. That's pretty much all I care about is restaurants."

"I'd maybe turn my hand at writing or, I dunno, being around leaves and animals and books," Riseborough added. "Maybe not all the same pile, but it's somewhere that's leafy."

Elsewhere in our interview, Winslet opened up more about working with Marion Cotillard and what previous world in her filmography she would revisit, while Samberg and Riseborough gushed about getting to work with an icon like Winslet and what advice they have for creatives in the film who need the motivation to keep pushing for their projects to be made, especially since Lee was a passion project for Winslet and others that took some time to finally be made.
