"I love the gays," she said, before bursting into beautiful song, singing, "I'm nothing without my gays."
"At the core, the story is a love story between two women," Out later asked. "So what's it like to get to see this kind of love story again on the big screen for the masses?"
"I'm just so happy that there are things we can't do on stage that they can do with the movie when you come in for a closeup," Chenoweth replied. "And I'm particularly happy with what I saw on Cynthia (Erivo, who plays Elphaba) and Ariana's (Grande, who plays Glinda) faces. I've seen the movie on a big screen, so certain moments really resonated with me, that you know, me and Idina, we played to the back of the house."
"And also I just love that the legacy that we started is now. People will get to go that can't afford to go to New York, go get a show and get a movie and go get dinner and go get a hotel. It's bringing it home and that makes me the most happy," she added.
Out also asked Chenowith if she could take one song from Grande's discography into the world of Wicked, which it would be.
"'Thank U, Next,' for sure! Moving on from Fiyero, and moving on from Elphaba, but coming back."
