See Lady Gaga As Harley Quinn On-Set in Joker: Folie à Deux

Lady Gaga and Harley Quinn

The Queen of Pop and Clown Prince of Crime are teaming up!

Some new photos and videos from the filming set of Joker: Folie à Deux show off Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn in action — and it looks like the Queen of Pop is getting deep into character!

The on-set photo that shows Gaga in costume seems to have her in full-on acting mode with her eyes wide and wild, looking like she’ll slip perfectly into Harley Quinn’s disturbed shoes.

In a video taken from the set, Gaga’s Quinn is standing on the street surrounded by a crowd when she throws something through the window of a shop on the street and steals a TV from the display. It’s not exactly the best look at Gaga as Quinn, but right now, we’ll take what we can get.

We had already seen one image of Gaga’s Quinn before, when she shared the first pic of her character and the Joker in the upcoming movie just in time for Valentine’s Day.

While comic and animated versions, as well as Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, have been disturbed and dangerous, they’re also usually very comedic and light-hearted, with the character balancing out some of the DC Universe’s darker characters.

This new version seems like it might lose some of that fun and humor for a more intense portrayal.

The movie also stars Joaquin Phoenix reprising his Oscar-winning role, as well as Zazie Beetz (also returning) and newcomers Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, and Harry Lawtey. Todd Phillips returns as writer and director.

Unlike the first film, Joker: Folie à Deux is set to be a musical, with Gaga singing songs. If all goes well, Gaga could be seeing her fourth Oscar nomination for Best Original Song and second nomination for Best Actress.
