7 movies & shows that prove vampires are gay AF
We'll never get tired of queer bloodsuckers!
7 queer vampire movies and shows you should check outAMC Networks; MediaPunch/Bauer-Griffin/GC Images; NetflixWe recently learned that two of the hottest actors in the world, Kristen Stewart and Oscar Isaac, are teaming up for a new "hedonistic" vampire movie!
In the film, entitled Flesh of the Gods, they play a married couple of vampires who live in a luxury skyscraper and go out exploring '80s Los Angeles at night. "When they cross paths with the mysterious and enigmatic Nameless and her hard-partying cabal, Raoul and Alex are seduced into a glamorous, surrealist world of hedonism, thrills, and violence."
Of course, Stewart played a vampire before in the Twilight saga, and this new film sounds like its the exact kind of vampire movie we want to see more of!
We at Out like when vampires are brutal, sexy, and above all, queer. Thankfully, those have all been a large part of the vampire mythos since the very beginning! So here are seven of our favorite movies and TV shows with queer vampires!
1. Carmilla
Carmilla is a web series and movie based on the 1872 gothic novella of the same name that featured a young woman being preyed upon by a female vampire. Carmilla is the original lesbian vampire.
In this web series and subsequent film, a college student named Laura decides to make a vlog documenting her life when her roommate goes missing and is replaced by the mysterious new roommate, Carmilla. As the two get to know each other, it becomes clear Carmilla is a vampire, but that doesn't stop Laura from falling in love with her.
Available to watch on YouTube.2. What We Do in the Shadows
Based on the movie of the same name, this FX series follows a group of immortal, and queer, vampires and their gay familiar/bodyguard, Guillermo. The show is delightfully gay, with every one of the vampires having been with same-sex partners on screen.
One of the central stories of the show is also the unspoken love between the vampire Nandor the Relentless and his familiar. Their love story has been slowly playing out over five seasons, and is one of our favorite will-they-won't-they plots of all time!

Now, in season two, after getting rid of Lestat, Louis is trying to find a new home and love.
