The actor chatted with Out at the red carpet premiere of his latest film Road House.

A film about men wrestling with fan-favorite actors from Brokeback Mountain and The White Lotus? I mean, sign us up!

Lukas Gage is one of the stars in Road House starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Daniela Melchior, and Conor McGregor. The movie tells the story of a former UFC fighter (played by Gyllenhaal) who ends up in the Florida Keys.

During the grand premiere of Road House, Gage spoke with Out about finally getting a role where his character is allowed to fight back. “Finally I get to, like, hit somebody back and stand up for himself,” the actor joked. “Why am I always getting my ass kicked in everything? It’s unfair!”

During his prep for the film, Gage worked with stunt coordinators who have worked on high-profile projects like Avatar. “They didn’t let me get away with anything. Every time I tried to complain or say I wanted to tap out, they were like, ‘Keep going man. You got this, you got this.’ So we did two weeks of nonstop fight training and, god, it was hard. I’ve never been more sore in my life.”

Gage also revealed which character he’d like to revisit if he was ever given the chance… and, to our delight, his answer makes perfect sense in our fantasy! "I’ve got to go with The White Lotus’ Dillon.” He also talked about giving continuation to Tyler, his character from Euphoria, which hasn’t been seen in a while.

“I think Tyler's story is unfinished. It really is,” he continued. “I've been really lucky to be a part of the first seasons of all these really good shows and I think both those characters have more to say and they also have... they kind of both have to claim their stuff. Tyler could own some shit and beat the hell out of Nate. He also did something really bad, so I can't really support him. But Dillon didn't do anything. He just did ketamine and hooked up with his boss. He needs to take over the White Lotus.”

When asked which show or movie he’d like to remake so that he could star in it, Gage responded:

“Let’s say Point Break. [But] that’s a hard thing, too. You don’t want to take the beauty of the original, but I want to do a re-imagined version of that movie.”

Road House is now streaming on Prime Video.
