The out actor joined the cast of the upcoming horror sequel and now we can't wait to see it!

The gays are getting scared this year!

White Lotus star Lukas Gage is set to star opposite Aladdin’s Naomi Scott in an upcoming sequel to the box-office hit Smile, which became the number-one horror movie of 2022 due to a creative viral marketing campaign.

This comes on the heels of the out actor starring as Lars Olmstead in the fifth season of FX’s award-winning drama Fargo and 2023’s Down Low, a dark comedy where Gage’s character helps teach Zachary Quinto explore what it means to be gay and how to hide a dead body.

While the details of the Smile sequel’s plot have yet to be released, the original film was about a psychiatrist who is haunted by an evil entity that smiles at its victims after she witnesses a traumatic event involving one of her patients. It’s no surprise Paramount is planning a sequel set to hit theaters on October 18, 2024, considering Smile garnered unexpected box-office success, raking in $217 million worldwide, according to Deadline.

Gage first made it big because of starring turns in hit shows like HBO’s teen drama Euphoria, Netflix’s You, and Hulu/Disney+’s gay high school comedy Love, Victor.

Despite splitting from his husband, Chris Appleton, two months ago, he’s already got plenty of work lined up. Gage is starring in the upcoming Amazon remake of the Patrick Swayze classic Road House directed by Doug Liman, the Netflix series Dead Boy Detectives, and the sci-fi thriller Companion from creators of the 2023 hit horror movie Barbarian.

We love to see out actors booked and busy!
