What's better than one Spider-Man? Three Spider-Women!

The Spider-Girlies are Spider-Girling!

The first trailer for Sony’s Madame Web movie is here, and it is full of Spider-Women!

The trailer shows off the life and powers of Cassandra Webb, a Manhattan paramedic played by Dakota Johnson who almost dies and afterward realizes that she has new clairvoyant powers that allow her to see the future with enough time to change it.

In the film, Webb has a special connection to three young women, played by Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced, and Celeste O’Connor. All three women not only have a connection to her in their lives, but they all become various versions of spider-based superheroes from the Marvel Universe.

Sweeney plays Julia Carpenter, also known as Spider-Woman, and we get a chance to see her in her costume. O’Connor is playing Mattie Franklin, another character who also uses the name Spider-Woman, but has four large spider legs coming out of her back. Merced plays Anya Corazon, also known as Araña.

In the film, a Spider-Man-esque supervillain named Ezekiel Sims, played by Tahar Rahim, is on a mission to kill the three young women. Sims wears a suit similar to Spider-Man, has similar powers, and can also see into the future like Webb.

Madame Web also stars Mike Epps, Emma Roberts, and Adam Scott. It’s directed by SJ Clarkson from a screenplay by SJ Clarkson & Claire Parker. It is scheduled to be released in theaters on February 14, 2024.
