In 2024, a new generation of Plastics is coming to a screen near you!
The cinematic adaptation of the Mean Girls musical is coming to theaters on January 12. Written by Tina Fey and directed by Arturo Perez Jr. and Samantha Jayne, this upcoming musical reboot features an all-new cast when it comes to the main characters of the film.
2024’s Mean Girls stars Angourie Rice as Cady Heron, Reneé Rapp as Regina George, Auliʻi Cravalho as Janis, Jaquel Spivey as Damian, Bebe Wood as Gretchen Wieners, Avantika Vandanapu as Karen, Christopher Briney as Aaron Samuels, and Busy Philipps as Mrs. George. In turn, Tina Fey and Tim Meadows are reprising their roles as Ms. Norbury and Principal Duvall.
Given that it’s been 20 years since 2004’s Mean Girls premiered in theaters, this new version aims to introduce a whole new generation to the saga of Cady vs. the Plastics. Plus, some musical numbers! We’re very gay, so we definitely can’t wait to see how this turns out.
