Gorier, Unrated Cut of M3GAN Releasing Next Week

m3gan

This killer doll has barely begun.

Watch out, M3GAN is coming back, more brutal than ever.

One of our favorite horror movies in years, M3GAN is about to be released on digital February 24, and there will be a much gorier version.

When M3GAN releases on digital platforms, it will be available in the original version, and a new, unrated version. This gorier, deadlier version of the film had been previously teased by the film’s writer.

“There should be an unrated version at some point … I heard it is on the books. But yes, it was way gorier,” writer Akela Cooper told the Los Angeles Times. “Her body count in the script was higher than in the movie. It wasn’t a Gabriel [in Malignant]-scale massacre, but she did kill a bunch more people, including a couple of characters whom James [Wan] was like, ‘I like what you did with those people, but I want them to live.’ I was merciless, but again, that is me. My humor is extremely dark.”

The movie was an immediate box office success, earning $91 million domestically and $167 million globally, and it was an even quicker success in the queer community.

As soon as gays saw M3GAN’s wig, sassy one-liners, and dance moves in the trailer, she was an instant gay icon. Once we got to see the movie had all that and a plot about a chosen family raising a child together, the movie was cemented as an all-time queer classic.

If the unrated cut of

M3GAN still isn’t enough to satiate your hunger for killer dolls in lace front wigs, don’t worry, she’ll be coming back for a sequel, M3GAN 2.0 in January, 2025. Cooper will return as the writer, and Alison Williams and Violet McGraw will also be reprising their starring roles.
