They are no longer strangers, that’s for sure.
Andrew Scott (Adam) and Paul Mescal (Harry) played lovers in the upcoming Andrew Haigh film All of Us Strangers. After neighbors Adam and Harry have a chance encounter in London, a relationship blossoms between them and takes over Adam’s preoccupation with memories of his childhood and parents. Since Scott and Mescal are both considered “internet boyfriends,” praise for this romantic pairing has been all over social media for months now.
When it comes to Scott and Mescal’s personal bond, Haigh told People:
“They were so excited to work with each other, and I think that meant so much to them. They’re really good friends now. They hang out all the time, and so something special was created when they were working together, and they’re still so close. They still like each other and they still text and see each other all the time.”
Haigh also told the publication that he “can’t imagine anybody else in the roles.” The filmmaker explained:
“They have amazing chemistry. They’re both so soulful and they’re brilliant actors, and they bring the film to life. They are the things that bring the magic in the movie. So yeah, I’m so happy with them.”
Critics and audiences have been praising the performances of Mescal and Scott in All of Us Strangers. And who doesn’t love a good Hollywood story about two costars who create a great bond with each other after working together on a project? This is all just so lovable!
We can’t wait for the world to see All of Us Strangers. In the meantime, we’ll keep checking in with these actors on social media and maybe even read some fan-fiction, as a treat.
All of Us Strangers premieres December 22 in theaters.
