Watch the Hilarious (& Steamy) First 'Red, White & Royal Blue' Trailer

​When matters of the heart become matters of state!

Based on the novel by Casey McQuiston, Red, White & Royal Blue tells the story of the First Son of the United States, Alex (played by Taylor Zakhar Perez), falling in love with a British prince, Henry (played by Nicholas Galitzine). Though they start out as rivals, the tension between Alex and Henry is quickly revealed to be more sexual and romantic than they had expected it to be.

Amazon Prime Video has now dropped the very first trailer of Red, White & Royal Blue, which is set for an August 11 premiere on the streaming service. This first trailer teases how their “frenemies” chemistry evolves into a love story, and how there are international implications when it comes to the son of the US president dating a UK royal.

This trailer features several hilarious scenes, such as Alex and Henry accidentally destroying a wedding cake, Henry being threatened to get his head “Brexited” from his body, and Alex grabbing Henry’s ass at a fancy party.

Besides Perez and Galitzine in the lead roles, Red, White & Royal Blue also features Uma Thurman (Elle), Stephen Fry (the King), Sarah Shahi (Zahra), Ellie Bamber (Princess Bea), Rachel Hilson (Nora), and Malcolm Atobrah (Percy).

Judging by this first trailer, this gay rom-com will certainly lean into its R-rating and give us everything we wanted. We can’t wait!
