This definitely wasn't on our 2024 bingo card!

French pole vaulter Anthony Ammirati went viral this week with videos shared all over social media showing that his very prominent bulge cost him a medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Ammirati might've lost an Olympic medal, but this viral video has garnered him a mind-blowing increase in Instagram followers. Specifically, Ammirati had 6,355 followers on Saturday, August 3 (before these videos went viral) and has grown to a current total of 216,000 followers as of Wednesday, August 7 (via Social Blade).

Now, CamSoda — a livestreaming platform known for adult content — has reportedly offered to pay Ammirati as much as $250,000 for a one-hour cam show, according to a letter obtained and reported by Us Weekly. CamSoda's offer letter reportedly reads as follows:

"Although you didn't bring home the gold medal, you can still capture the gold from your fans via CamSoda — that has to count for something, right? Plus, you won't have those restrictive compression shorts holding you back, so feel free to let it all out and show the world why you should have your own Olympic competition next time around."

Out has reached out to both Ammirati and CamSoda for comment.

As seen in the report above, Ammirati's growth since Saturday, August 3 has included tens of thousands of new followers — taking the French pole vaulter's IG reach from 6k to 216k in less than a week.

In the slow-motion videos widely circulated on social media throughout the week, the 21-year-old pole vaulter is seen trying to clear a 5.70m bar. However, as he starts to fall back onto the ground, Ammirati's impossible-to-miss bulge catches the bar and knocks it out of place.

The girls, gays, and theys who contributed to this viral sensation feel bad that Ammirati's Olympic dreams have been shattered. On the other hand, these fans are also celebrating that the athlete is at least walking out of Paris 2024 with a huge following due to this viral video.

In the words of RuPaul, "losing is the new winning!" We do hope Ammirati is having some fun with this discourse.
