The two athletes shared the good news in their Instagram stories, where they posted photos of their hands with engagement rings.
The two have been dating for over two years and have been teammates since 2020.
Marta had previously gotten engaged to another former teammate, Toni Pressley, in 2021. However, the two broke up and Marta and Lawrence started dating in 2022.
Marta is widely considered to be the greatest women's soccer player of all time and one of the greatest footballers to ever play.
She has competed in six consecutive Olympics, winning three silver medals, including this year. She also set the record for most consecutive olympics having scored a goal, with goals in five consecutive Olympic games.
In 2019, she became the leading goal scorer in the history of both men's and women's World Cups, with 17 goals over her international career.
Marta currently plays for the Orlando Pride of the NWSL, where Lawrence is her teammate. The Pride has eleven wins, zero losses, and five draws, putting them at the top of the league rankings.
Congrats to the new fiancées!
