To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Out100, Tom Daley was honored as a "groundbreaker."

We've loved Tom Daley since his stint at the 2008 Olympic Games. After collecting five Olympic medals over the years — including a gold medal in Tokyo and a silver this year in Paris — the British Diver has officially announced his retirement.

While being honored on this year's Out100, the prolific diver opened up about the highlights of his experience at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Specifically, Daley was listed in the Groundbreakers section of the Out100, which honored the LGBTQ+ who worked hard to make the world a better place for the queer community this year, said that his highlight wasn't winning the silver medal, but being there with his family.

Daley said that his husband, Dustin Lance Black, as well as their two sons, Robbie and Phoenix Rose, being present at the Olympic Games was the highlight of his entire year.

"[To] have them there cheering on in the audience was pretty special," Daley explained.

During his interview, Daley also told Out what it's been like as one of the most famous out athletes in the world since he came out in 2013.

"I think the most important thing is to just be visible, and be able to be your true authentic self, and be able to do the thing that you love to do and do it well," he said. "Do it with pride."
