A recent episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show featured the OG American Idolwinner covering a rock classic, and queers everywhere are losing their minds over it.
The latest cover on the talk show's "Kellyoke" series is The Outfield's iconic 1986 track "Your Love." Clarkson comes in on a ten, effortlessly proving why she's the people's idol.
"Josie's on a vacation far away," she belts. "Come around and talk it over/So many things that I wanna say/You know I like my girls a little bit older/I just wanna use your love tonight."
Clarkson using the original name "Josie" and pronouns in her cover gender-flips it, changing the context from a man seeking a one night stand into a forbidden sapphic romance.
Well, it's no wonder that so many queer women are latching onto it. One particular TikTok user shared a video (seen below) with a hilarious reaction to Clarkson's cover.
"Miss Kelly... do you know what you just did to the lesbians?" @archer.jo wrote over the video. "Is ANYONE okay after watching this???"
As of this writing, the earnest, hilarious, and relatable TikTok video is close to reaching 2 million views. It also has nearly 190,000 likes. Thank you, gay gods (and Kelly Clarkson), for your services.
