Embracing the Kink with Sniffies, Are You Curious?

Embracing the Kink with Sniffies, Are You Curious?

Sniffies is taking gay dating to a kinky new level. Read how they are and how embracing kink honors LGBTQ+ history.

Kink has been a part of the LGBTQ+ community since before Stonewall, and it’s not going away. Even though there is debate within the community about kink’s place at events like Pride, there is worry that denying kink its place erases its purpose in Gay Liberation all the way through to marriage equality. But Sniffies is changing the way kink is viewed.

From the ‘Curious?’ press release: “With the map-based cruising app for gay, bi, queer, and curious guys, Sniffies is encouraging people to discover their deepest curiosities and desires by exploring a wide variety of kinks and fetishes.” In doing so, Sniffies is honoring LGBTQ+ history.

Sex-positive and body-positive movements have been historically integral in LGBTQ+ liberation. These members of the LGBTQ+ community, often pushed to the margins of society, have pushed back against oppressive actions that culminated in Gay Liberation.

Pride commentary writer Christian Gabriel shares in the same article that, “Communities like those including BDSM practitioners, kinksters, nudists, and more have always pushed back against puritanical, conservative religious-based oppression of queer folks since the beginning of our modern liberation movements, including at Pride events.”

Honoring history can be fun, and Sniffies hopes users have fun while exploring their fully interactive, map-based cruising platform. Part of their campaign to liberate users is partnering with New York-based Russian-American multimedia artist and author, Slava Mogutin to create scintillating visuals to inspire users to log on.

From their press release: “Partnering with Slava Mogutin is a natural fit for our ‘Curious?’ campaign, said Eli Martin, CMO & Creative Director at Sniffies. “Slava’s work challenges societal norms and encourages people to embrace their individuality and rawest desires. There’s no doubt his unique perspective will resonate with the primal energy we all possess and inspire users to explore their curiosities.”

Images range from a man sniffing a jock strap on a washing machine to a man sniffing another man's arm pits. Whatever your kink is, Sniffies and Mogutin want to represent it. Highlighting diverse and authentic experiences is important to this campaign, where users can discover themselves and their desires.

“I’m excited to be part of this campaign and work with Sniffies,” said Mogutin. “I believe that exploring our desires and curiosities is an essential part of the human experience, and I’m thrilled to be able to use my art to inspire others to embrace their true selves.”

So, whatever your kink is, honor yourself and LGBTQ+ history by exploring it with the help of Sniffies. Learn more about Sniffies and the “Curious?” campaign with Slava Mogutin.
