While racists are mad about Rachel Ziegler's casting as Snow White, many disability activists are disappointed in Disney's use of CGI instead of real little people.

The new Snow White trailer dropped today, and while Rachel Ziegler is out here channeling princess perfection, some of the internet is having a collective meltdown.

Ziegler, a Latina actress, plays Snow White in this live-action film, which means the same people who flipped out over Halle Bailey asThe Little Mermaid are back at it again. β€œSnow White has to be white because of the name!” they say, forgetting that Disney princesses are indeed fictional characters….

Ziegler stars alongside Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen. Instead of casting real people, Disney opted for CGI little people, which has also sparked backlash online. Critics and fans argue the move is disrespectful to actors who could have taken on these roles.

The trailer hints at a magical, whimsical vibe, with Ziegler singing β€œWhistle While You Work” like the vocalist angel she is. We can expect new original songs from the duo Pasek and Paul, who brought us The Greatest Showman bangers.

Snow White’s story stays true to its original plot, Evil stepmom, poison apple, Prince Charming, the classic Disney formula. Whether you’re here for the fairytale or just the drama, Snow White is gearing up to be the movie everyone’s arguing about next spring.
