Adele completely turned the tables on a pair of audience members who were reprimanding a fan for standing up and getting his life during a concert.
As seen in a TikTok video shared by @adeleslittleloveee, a fan named Juan Lastra was living his best life while attending the Weekends With Adele residency in Las Vegas. However, the fact that he was standing up seemed to bother other audience members who wanted to stay seated at the venue.
Lastra was first approached by a woman saying that everyone behind him was sitting down, which prompted her to demand that he should also sit down. The person sitting next to Lastra told the woman that Lastra had the right to stand up, but she insisted on her point. Later in the video, Lastra got reprimanded again by a man asking him to sit down and even to stop singing.
Even though she was all the way on the stage for the performance, Adele noticed what was going on and stopped the concert to defend this fan. “Stop a minute,” she started. “What is going on with that young man there? He’s been bothered so much since I came on for standing up. What’s going on with him?”

Lastra raised his hand up and Adele confirmed that he was indeed talking directly to him, which prompted the man who was bothering Lastra to just walk away from him. The singer added, “Why are you all bothering him? Can you leave him alone please? They won’t bother you again, my darling. You enjoy the show.”
At this point, security guards at the venue reiterated to Lastra that he did not have to sit down at any point in the concert if he didn’t want to. He was clearly not causing any mess or starting any drama – just being a very passionate fan who was getting his life from seeing Adele in concert.
In response, Lastra screamed back to Adele to thank her for defending him in this situation. “Sorry guys, he’s been bothered the whole show by security and other people sitting behind him,” she told the audience. “He’s here to have fun, alright? All of you are here to have fun. Let’s get on with it.”
Lastra himself also shared a video on his TikTok that showed a different angle of this very unfortunate situation.
@juanp_lastraAdele thank you so much for this breathtaking night and for standing up for me, so that I could live your concert as it should be. I’m also sorry that I didnt respond back to anyrhing you asked me. you started talking to me and I literally stopped breathing. I had been planning to come to this concert for over a year and I finally had the opportunity to come see most beautiful glorious woman this earth has gotten. I still can not wrap my head around the fact that I was in the same room as ADELE, sang every song with her, and she even stopped the show to defend me. I did not expected everyone in my section to be mad at me for having the time of my life and wanting to stand up and sing with her but I honestly did not care at all about what anyone was saying to me I just was in awe with the master piece I was watching with my own eyes. I did not have time for them haters. @Adele Access #adele #weekendswithadele #lasvegas #ceasarspalace🇵🇷
Many artists are appreciative of fans who get their life during a concert and send exciting energy back to the performer on stage. Knowing Adele, it doesn’t come as a huge surprise that she would stop the show to defend this fan who was just enjoying himself.
Still, this video has now gone viral with 9.5 million views on the original TikTok video, 1.8 million views on Lastra’s post, and 4.1 million views on the clip that was re-shared on X (former Twitter).
