R&B legends Brandy & Monica reunite for Ariana Grande's 'The Boy Is Mine' remix

"The Boy Is Mine" stans young and old, our time is now!

Just two weeks after releasing the music video for her song "the boy is mine," pop superstar Ariana Grande has announced a special surprise for fans of the original song – like herself.

Grande shared the news Monday on social media.

"i ……… cannot believe this is real (i don’t know if i will even long after it’s out)," the singer wrote on Instagram. "my deepest and sincerest thank you to Brandy and Monica, not only for joining me for this moment, but for your generosity, your kindness, and for the countless ways in which you have inspired me. it is near impossible to say how much this means to me. this is in celebration of you both and the impact that you have had on every vocalist, vocal producer, musician, artist that is creating today. i loooooove you both so so much. thank you !!!!!!!"

As Grande interpolated the melody of their song for hers, both Brandy and Monica were featured in Grande's music video, and the duo recreated their iconic cover artwork of the single from twenty-six years ago. Grande's music video even coincidentally dropped on the anniversary of the original song going No. 1 in 1998!
