Parkwood Entertainment
The Cowboy Carter era is officially beginning!
Ever since the Super Bowl, we’ve been eagerly anticipating any new news about Beyoncé’s upcoming new album that, until now, was simply being referred to simply as Act II. Now, we know that the country album will be called Cowboy Carter in a nod to Beyoncé’s family name and the long tradition of Black cowboys in American history.

Act I was titled Renaissance and was a dance/house music album, and is being followed up by Act II: Cowboy Carter, which will be released on March 29.
Beyoncé has already released two singles off Cowboy Carter, “Texas Hold ‘Em,” which became her ninth solo number one single, and “16 Carriages.” Both songs were announced during the Super Bowl following a commercial the singer did with Verizon.
Beyoncé also shared a link to her website where you can preorder limited-edition covers, including some that show half of Beyoncé’s face. In one, she’s wearing a black cowboy hat and a large earring, and in another, she’s wearing sunglasses that have a white snake design cut out on them. In the others, she has blonde hair and beaded hair.
Scroll through to check out all four alternative covers! Hooray for a new era!
