Blackpink is definitely in your area, and Christmas brought a whole wave of announcements for Blinks to scream over.
First of all, you may already be aware of the “Blackpink: A VR Encore” show set to stream through Meta Horizon Worlds at 5 p.m. PT on December 26.
If you weren’t aware, the concert stream features the final performance from the band’s 2023 “Born Pink” world tour. If you missed out and you’re not as jealous as I am, check out the trailer and get yourself hyped for the playback:
BLACKPINK: A VR Encore – Official Trailer
On Christmas Eve, fan-favorite rapper Lisa dropped a cover of Britney Spears’ “My Only Wish (This Year),” which gave her some much-needed shine on her vocal ability outside of her ability to rap.
It also included a cute, if not a little sad, video of Lisa traveling the world by herself and hoping to find some love.
Her most recent solo singles, “Lalisa” and “Money” showed off her talent for the latter, but fans of the group know she’s got tons of vocal talent that only sporadically gets a chance at being displayed, and it's about time she got more of a chance to show off those chops.
And last up, frontwoman and actress Jennie also announced that 2024 would see the launch of her own label and company, Odd Atelier (OA).
According to a post from the official Instagram, she wrote the label is “a space that aims to create new things that attract attention in a different way from what is usual or expected.”
While we’ll have to wait for some more details on what products are going to make their way into this line, at least we have the new cover from Lisa to hold us over, at least until the VR encore performance of “Born Pink.”
Here’s to hoping Jisoo and Rosé drop some even more exciting announcements on New Year’s Eve.
