The "Hot To Go" singer also expressed her gratitude for her career, sharing that it has allowed her to earn enough to pay her rent.

Good luck, Hollywood! It looks like out singer-songwriter Chappell Roan won't be involved in any upcoming film and television projects anytime soon.

In a new interview with queer Saturday Night Live icon Bowen Yang for Interview Magazine, the pop star, who seemingly rose in popularity of nowhere but has actually been grinding since 2020 and earlier, opened up about how even though she was originally pursuing music to venture into acting, those plans have since diverged and that she has no desire to pursue acting in the near future.

"Actors are f****** crazy," the "Hot To Go!" singer told Yang.

"I get so freaked out by film people. I’ve been asked in the past couple of weeks, like, 'You want the lead in XYZ?' and I'm like, 'No.' I appreciate it, but literally, no," she continued. "I originally started doing music because I wanted to get my foot in the door for acting, and then I moved to Los Angeles, and I was like, 'Fuck that.' The industry is legitimately so scary, and it is so out of my control. I can put out music whenever I want. I don't have to wait for a casting director to be like, 'It would be great if we cast you, and then we'll decide your schedule for the next three months.''"

The 26-year-old then shared she would be open to a cameo if it was a "specific" type of role.

"I think it would have to be really specific and really silly. I would maybe do a cameo," she expressed.

She continued, sharing with Yang that even though she's a trained actress, she emphasized it's the "most stressful thing in the world" before jokingly saying she'd rather get arrested.

Hollywood would have to book Roan after 2025, as the artist shared she's booked through for all of next year, expressing her gratitude.

"The next year is booked out. It's crazy," Roan said.

"I'm just very lucky that I have the leverage to say no and yes. I mean, it's awesome knowing that I have a job. I've never been guaranteed money before. That's the difference. I’ve always been a writer, but I didn't start making money to pay my rent until last year."
