6 essential bops from Doechii — now a Grammy Award nominee
Grammy Award nominee Doechii… IKTR!
Doechii is gearing up to become a household name in this industry — and rightfully so!
The versatile lyricist continues to pull out quotable punchlines and captivating visuals that will stand the test of time. The 25-year-old started her journey not too long ago, but the "What It Is" artist is carving out a lane for herself that is both untouchable and unmatched.
On November 8, 2024, Doechii was officially nominated for four 2025 Grammy Awards in four categories: Best New Artist, Best Rap Album (Alligator Bites), Best Rap Performance ("Nissan Altima"), and Best Remixed Recording (the KAYTRANADA remix of "Ego").
Four categories… not too bad for a first-time nominee at the Grammys! While we can sing her praises all day, we want to make sure that the girls who still don't get it, finally do.
As a starting point, check out six songs from Doechii that should definitely be in your library.
"B*tch I'm Nice"
I mean, it's in the title — she's nice! Her breath control, the visuals, the beat… I mean, this is a legend in the making. She already told y'all how great she is, so get with the winning team.
"Persuasive" (with SZA)
While we could continue to try and persuade you (and we're not even halfway through the list), this record proves that we don't need to convince you that much to recognize how talented our girl is. I mean, even SZAsees it. An empowering record with vibrant lyrics and a colorful video to match? Absolutely!
"Crazy"
It's crazy… how hard this song goes! She really ate with this one.
"Pacer"
An innovator. If you're ever upset and need a release, put this record on. I bet once you scream the lyrics, you'll definitely feel a lot better.
"Alter Ego With JT"
The Florida girls are up with this one. Doechii tapped her Florida girly, JT, for a hit that the streets will play out throughout the summer.
"What It Is (Block Boy)" (with Kodak Black)
Despite this being her breakout smash hit, it's still being played in the clubs. She did that with this one. Keep it up, Doechii!
