Kevin Aviance is going on tour and Out’s parent company equalpride is sponsoring it along with Voss Management.
Aviance is a renowned queer drag artist and nightlife icon who was featured on Beyoncé’s latest album Renaissance. His CVNTY Ball will serve as the go-to destination for the unofficial after-parties of the U.S. portion of Queen B’s Renaissance Tour, showcasing the very musical inspiration behind Renaissance and the music scene Aviance has influenced.
Kevin, originally from Virginia, became a member of the House of Aviance in Washington, D.C by Mother Juan, before moving to New York City. He has been iconic in the gay club music scene for more than two decades. He became a queer superstar with the release of the legendary 1999 album Box of Chocolates, which included the hit song “Cunty.” It’s that song that is sampled on Beyoncé’s song “Pure/Honey.”
The CVNTY Ball Tour begins in Portland, Ore., on July 15, 2023, followed by appearances in key cities across the U.S., including Chicago, New York City, Atlanta, Las Vegas, San Francisco, and more, culminating with a grand finale in Dallas, Texas, on September 24, 2023.
"equalpride is excited to participate in this exuberant cross-country journey, fostering unity and providing a platform for individuals to express themselves freely, safely, and joyfully," the company said in a press release.
Be sure to check out extensive coverage, exclusive behind-the-scenes access, and insightful interviews with Kevin Aviance throughout the tour on equalpride properties, including Out.
