Alongside 2AM Ricky and Brooke Eden Hoover, Khalid is among the latest performers set to join the "free WorldPride DC Street Festival + Closing Concert with Doechii on Sunday, June 8th!" The Instagram announcement from Capital Pride Alliance & WorldPride Washington, DC 2025 adds, "We're so excited to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Pride In Our Nation's Capital with this incredible lineup."

The largest LGBTQ+ music festival in history takes place between June 6 and 8 in Washington D.C. — and it is just a small part of the city's full month of LGBTQ+ celebrations from May 17-June 8. Khalid, alongside Cynthia Erivo and Doechii, will headline the free event on June 8. Jennifer Lopez, Troye Sivan, and RuPaul are set to headline the June 6-7 celebrations alongside Tinashe, Kim Petras, Sasha Colby, and more.

The upcoming performance marks Khalid's first time appearing on a Pride lineup, and is the singer's first Pride performance since being outed last year.

The Grammy Award-nominated singer, who was quiet about his sexuality throughout his career, came out in November after social media personality Hugo D Almonte posted a photo of the two together captioned "Bitch ass [ninja emoji] lied and said that I broke into his house cause I didn’t want him."

Social media speculation began to swirl, and Khalid eventually felt the need to post a rainbow flag emoji alongside exclamation points on X/Twitter, followed by, "There y'all go. Next topic please lol."

He then wrote, "I got outted and the world still continues to turn. Let's get this straight (lmao) I am not ashamed of my sexuality! In reality it ain't nobodies business! But I am okay with me. love yall."

Despite the upsetting circumstances, it's exciting to see Khalid living his truth and celebrating Pride with his community!
