Between headlining the Coachella Festival this month and embarking on The Mayhem Ball tour in July, Mother Monster is officially taking over the world with the Mayhem era. In an interview with Out, Gaga took time to reflect on the iconic LGBTQ+ moments of the 2025 Grammy Awards — which included running into Roan during the ceremony.
"It was amazing, and I think that it's such a gift to the world. These artists are tremendous," Gaga tells Out when asked about the queer women who dominated the 67th Grammy Awards. "Their messages are so important. Their music is amazing. And what they stand for, what they mean to so many people."
Gaga adds, "I saw Chappell for three seconds and I told her that. I said, 'You inspire so many people.' And I meant that. It was just amazing to be there. I think it's the most fun I've ever had at the Grammys, honestly. It was an amazing night."
Upon winning the Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for "Die With a Smile" alongside Bruno Mars, Gaga also used her acceptance speech to bring attention to the issues that trans people are facing right now.
"In my career, there's only been a handful of times that I've been on stage to be able to have the attention of the world for 45 seconds," Gaga tells Out. "I wanted to say something that is important — and it's certainly important to me, but it's even more important for the world [to listen]."
"What trans people are facing right now is a terrible violence against their lives," Gaga asserts. "I want to be a member of the community that's supportive and loving, and that's why I said what I said."
Gaga is only getting started with the Mayhem era, and Roan recently dropped "The Giver" while working on her sophomore album. It's clearly another very gay year in pop music, and we're here for it.
Lady Gaga's latest album, Mayhem, is available on all music streaming services. For tickets and more information on Gaga's headlining performances at Coachella, visit the festival's official website.
