History is happening as we speak!
We have officially entered a new era of music as Grammy- and Oscar-winning pop icon Lady Gaga has just released the first single from her upcoming seventh studio album!
After being teased on social media, "Disease," which is officially out now on all streaming platforms, is finally here and we are gagging like we haven't gagged in years!
Here's what we know so far about the LG7 era, and what we think you should know!
What is the first single off LG7?
While there's still a lot of mystery surrounding this new chapter in Gaga's iconic career, one thing we do know for sure is that the first single off the new album is titled "Disease."
Lady Gaga has already released several new songs this year, including those on the Joker 2 soundtrack, and the single "Die With a Smile" with Bruno Mars, however, "Disease" will be the first single that is officially a part of the LG7 music era.
What are the lyrics for "Disease?" And what is it about?
Gaga has even released the lyrics to her new songs, which feel like classic, dark, dance-pop Gaga.
"There are no more tears to cry/I heard you begging for your life/running out of medicine/you're worse than you've ever been," she sings on the track. "Ahhhh screamin' for me baby, like you're gonna die/poison on the inside/I could be your antidote tonight."
"I could play the doctor, I can cure your disease/If you were a sinner, I could make you believe. Lay you down like 1 2 3/eyes roll back with ecstasy/I can smell your sickness, I can cure ya, cure your disease."
Is there a music video for "Disease?"
Gaga shared a preview for the new single's music video, which shows her running from a car driven by someone wearing a wide-brimmed hat. Could this be Gaga from one of her earlier eras that is chasing down current Gaga?
Page Six reports that the "Disease" music video is "meticulously choreographed" and is similar to the videos for "Bad Romance" and Judas."
It was previously reported that Gaga hired choreographer Parris Goebel to work on the video.
Does LG7 have a name yet?
While we don't know for sure what the new album will be called, rumor online is that it will be titled Nightingale.
However, other reports say that "Nightingale" was the placeholder name for Harlequin online. Hopefully, we'll find out soon!
Earlier this year, Gaga confirmed that the album will be released in February of 2025.What will LG7 sound like?
Most of Lady Gaga's recent music has been ballads and jazz numbers. Her last two albums have been 2021's Love for Sale with Tony Bennett, and Harlequin, released this year along with Joker 2.
But it seems like she may be going back to her roots with her new album! According to Page Six, a music insider has said that Gaga's new music is "sonically reminiscent of her Born This Way album. Think dark dance-pop."
