Miley Cyrus wins her first-ever Grammy Award for 'Flowers'

17 years after her debut album was released, and nine years after she got her first Grammy nomination, Miley Cyrus is officially a Grammy Award winner.

Cyrus won the Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance for her song “Flowers,” beating out Taylor Swift with “Anti-Hero,” Olivia Rodrigo for “Vampire,” Billie Eilish for “What Was I Made For?” and Doja Cat for “Paint the Town Red.”

In her speech, Cyrus said she was worried she'd miss the award becasue of the rain. Then she told a story about a young boy who loved butterflies, and his parents gave him a butterfly net, and when he put the butterfly net away, that's when a butterfly landed right on his nose.

"And this song 'Flowers' is my butterfly, thank you," she said.

Cyrus is also up for Album of the Year and Pop Vocal Album for Endless Summer Vacation, and for Record and Song of the Year for “Flowers.” She was also nominated in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category.

“Flowers” represented a huge comeback for Cyrus, who had her first number one hit since 2013’s “Wrecking Ball” with the single. Now, she’s added a Grammy to that comeback.
