2023 was a great year for music, with artists like Miley Cyrus, Troye Sivan and Janelle Monáe releasing highly-anticipated new albums and others like Dua Lipa and Megan Thee Stallion releasing singles and songs.
And it looks like 2024 is going to be just as good!
Now that the New Year is officially here, we can start looking forward to some new bops. Here are 10 upcoming upcoming albums that we cannot wait to hear in 2024.
Ariana Grande

Grande has been working hard starring in the upcoming movie adaptation of Wicked, so we are overjoyed to see that she’s also had time to work on her upcoming 7th album!
In December, Grande started teasing her new music by sharing photos and clips of her working in the studio, including with producers Max Martin (“Into You,” “No Tears Left to Cry”) and Ilya (“Side to Side,” “God Is a Woman”). While these posts are muted, fans are champing at the bit to find out what the new songs will sound like.
Grande has also been teasing her new era with an up-close, blurry picture of her bright red lips. Her most recent Instagram post includes cards with the lip picture, a stick of her Attention shade of r.e.m. lipstick, and the words “see you next year.” Many fans are speculating that “Attention” could be the name of her first single from the new era.Lil Nas X

Back at the end of November, Lil Nas X teased a new phase of his musical career with a song clip and tweet reading “y’all mind if i enter my christian era?” In the slowed down track, he sings “I call on angels/I’m trying hard to face my pain yeah/give me hope when I feel less.”
While it may have been another example of trolling by the chart-topping singer, Lil Nas X wasn’t done teasing new music. On December 28, he tweeted “wrote AND directed my own music video for the first time. Excited for y’all to see. It’s the best one yet,” along with a church, white heart, and dove emoji, potentially meaning the video could be for the Christian song he teased.
Then, on January 2, Lil Nas X once again teased his new music era with a black and white photo of him in a white dress and angel wings, holding a large gun, with a Lil Nas X logo floating above.
Cardi B

Cardi B didn’t just play the old hits at her recent New Year’s Eve performance in Miami for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest this year, she also teased a new song that fans are hoping will be on her highly-anticipated new album.
In a September interview on Hot 97, she said she hopes to release a new album in 2024. “I should already start talking about the album because I’m going to be putting it out very soon,” she said. “I’m just holding it because I feel like I’m missing a couple of things.”Megan Thee Stallion

Megan Thee Stallion recently released her single “Cobra,” but she says more music should be coming soon.
She told People that “Cobra” “marked a new chapter of my life and career” and that “I really wanted to show the rebirth of Megan and set that tone with the song and the video.” When asked about a new album coming in the New Year, she said “All I can say is the Hotties should stay tuned.”
Rebecca Black

Pop singer Rebecca Black released her debut album Let Her Burn in February of 2023 and she’s hard at work on her follow up. When Pop Tingz tweeted out a list of artists rumored to be releasing new music in 2024, Black retweeted it with the caption “and me…”
Lorde

It’s been two years since Lorde released her third album Solar Power and fans are getting hungry for a new one. When Lorde cleared out her Instagram, leaving only two posts – the most recent showing her wearing headphones with the caption “listening to myself” – fans started clamoring for a new era.
When one fan commented on the post saying that “L4 SEASON IS UPON US,” the singer commented back saying, “We’re not CLOSE close you guys… I’m just getting so hype n needed to let you know.. Start ur excitement on a low flame and bring it up to a gentle simmer.. We building stamina for this chapter.”

Frank Ocean is the king of teasing new music. It’s been eight years since his masterful second album Blonde was released, and it's been four years since his last single. Still, fans are holding out hope the teases will lead to something new soon.
Back in November, Ocean teased a short clip of a new song on his Instagram stories. Since then, there’s been little movement.Luke Evans

While Luke Evans is mainly known for his acting, the hunky Beauty and the Beast star also loves to show off his vocal prowess on both stage and screen, and he’s been working on new, original music.
“I am writing right now and I’ve been recording a few things so I may release something in the new year, I’m not sure yet. That never stops,” he told The Standardwhile discussing a role on West End. “I love singing. I would like to maybe do some touring next year, I’m not entirely sure when, but that would be the next step for me to take a show on the road, which would be really fun.”SZA

In 2023, SZA dominated the charts with her second full-length album SOS, but she’s not stopping there. The Grammy-nominated singer is already teasing a new deluxe album titled Lana (after her first name Solána). Recently, she’s been teasing visuals from the new album on her Instagram, and previously, she said the album will have “seven to ten songs,” and called it “the B-side of SOS.”
Dua Lipa
instagram @dualipa
With her latest single “Houdini,” Dua Lipa officially announced she was entering a new era this past fall. She hasn’t announced any other songs or release dates but has talked some about what the new album will be like. She told T Magazine that the new album “is different – it’s still pop but it’s different sonically, and there's more of a lyrical theme” than her last album. She also told WSJ Magazine that the new album “has a vision. It has a name – for now.”
