10. Romy - Mid Air

The xx's Romy Madley Croft released her debut solo album, Mid Air, this fall. The album is what she describes as a love letter to the gay clubs she grew up going to in the UK. While the album is a lot more club-friendly than most of The xx's music, fans of that band should enjoy this as well.
11. Mitski - The Land is Inhospitable and So Are We

Whie Mitski has never explicitly said she's queer, she's definitely a favorite among queer fans, and she continues to show why on her terrific new album released this fall. The stripped-down and emotionally raw album doesn't hold back on emotions, making it perfect for any sad queer.

Sufjan Stevens has been breaking our hearts with his music for years, and this year, he did so in a much bigger way. When he released his latest terrific album this October, he came out by dedicating it to his late partner Evan Richardson, who had sadly passed away in April. Once again, Stevens delivers an excellent album full of raw emotion, layers of sound, and even more layers of meaning.
