Eurovision is on the horizon, and internet sleuths think that British pop singer Rina Sawayama will be taking part!
The rumors started from TikTok user @eurovanya, who posted a video noting that Sawayama’s tour schedule has a big gap that would allow for her to perform at the song contest. She’s going on tour this year, but not doing any shows between February and June. March to May is key Eurovision time.
The rumor really picked up steam, though, when Sawayama herself responded to it! Sawayama posted a duet with @eurovanya’s TikTok, in which he guesses that her song “Frankenstein” will be the one she performs, where she raises her eyebrows, nods, and smirks as @eurovanya lays out his theory.

Sawayama further fueled the rumors when she posted another video, this time showing her dancing in a large green dress to the song “Euphoria” by Loreen – a song made famous by the Eurovision Song Contest. Is she just teasing us??

The final piece of evidence comes from British journalist and Eurovision YouTuber William Lee Adams, who on Monday spotted a giant photo of Sawayama performing hanging in the BBC atrium.

While several other British stars have photos in the atrium, a new photo of Sawayama going up shortly before the BBC starts making announcements about Eurovision aligns perfectly with the theory.
Sawayama has still yet to confirm anything, but if the rumors turn out to be false, it seems like every heart in the UK will break. The Eurovision Song Contest semi-finals take place May 9 and 11, and the finals air on May 13.
