Troye Sivan got us started today!
The out gay popstar just dropped the sexy new music video for his much-anticipated single “Got Me Started” from his forthcoming album Something To Give Each Other that’s set to be released next month.
And if you thought the music video for the Australian pop star’s first single off the album “Rush” was queer, just wait until you see this new one.
In it, Sivan is shown naked in a bathhouse with only a carefully placed hand keeping it from being X-rated. But while we’re still daydreaming about that image he snaps our attention back to the music video when the “My My My!” singer cheekily shows the audience his underwear.
Is it getting hot in here?
“Boy, can I be honest? Kinda miss usin’ my body,” he sings in the chorus. “F**k it up just like this party did tonight.”
The music video, which was shot in Thailand, shows Sivan running through the streets and nightclubs of Bangkok, moving his hips to the music with equally hot backup dancers, going backstage at a drag show where the queens put him in drag, and finally dancing on a helipad in a glittering silver jumpsuit that could act as its own disco ball.
Not only is the song a bop, but the repeated crotch grabs and hip thrusts may also be why we've been watching the video on repeat all day—don't judge!
“You just got me started. And I don’t think I can stop it. And I don’t wanna go home alone, all right?” Sivan, who first gained popularity on YouTube before scoring his first record deal, sings in a video full of queer couples in intimate moments.
As part of an album written after a bad breakup, Sivan described his new single to Apple Music 1′s Zane Lowe as “the euphoric moment of total freedom, realizing that you’re completely fine on your own and that also this is not a moment of sadness, but a moment of endless possibilities.”
Gay, hot, talented and insightful? What more could our queer hearts ask for?
The 28-year-old hottie both wrote and sang “Got Me Started, but it was produced by Ian Kirkpatrick, who co-wrote and produced Dua Lipa’s “New Rules” and “Don’t Start Now” and Selina Gomez’s “Bad Liar.” The song also samples “Shooting Stars” from popular Australian electronic duo Bag Raiders
“Got Me Started” is the second single off of the album Something To Give Each Other which is due to be released on October 13, 2023.
