Look out WorldPride DC, Cynthia Erivo is coming!

Oscar nominee and Wicked star Cynthia Erivo has been announced as the headliner of WorldPride DC 2025's free Saturday night Street Festival and Concert.

Erivo, who has been nominated for three Academy Awards, including for Best Actress this year for playing Elphaba in Wicked, has also won an Emmy, Tony, and Grammy for The Color Purple.

The news was revealed Wednesday on ABC's GMA3: What You Need to Know.

WorldPride DC 2025's festival and concert is a free two-day event taking place June 7-8 on Pennsylvania Avenue, "set against the backdrop of the U.S. Capitol building."

The festival "will bring together hundreds of thousands of attendees and feature hundreds of vibrant exhibitors, skilled artisans, delicious food, and beverage gardens," according to a press release.

The WorldPride Street Festival and Concert takes place from noon until 10 p.m. each day on Pennsylvania Avenue between Ninth and Third Street and culminates with the Closing Night Concert, featuring several to-be-announced all-star artists, on Sunday night.

This year's WorldPride theme is the Fabric of Freedom, which "symbolizes the unity and resilience of the LGBTQ+ community," and "serves as a reminder of the ongoing fight for equality and the strength found in diversity."
