Chrishell Stause is not going to sit back and let her spouse G Flip be misgendered!
A new clip from the upcoming season of Netflix’s reality show Selling Sunset, following the team at LA-based realty company The Oppenheim Group, shows star Crishell Stause standing up strong when one of her co-stars misgenders her nonbinary partner.
The clip shows us a conversation between Stause and Marie-Lou Nuerk, the current girlfriend of Jason Oppenheim, the Oppenheim Group’s leader (and Stause’s ex).
While Stause and Nuerk are talking, Nuerk calls Jason on speakerphone and claims, “I’m here with Chrishell…” she says, “I think she doesn’t really want to be friends with me. And she told me it’s because I was jealous and I was crying.”
Immediately Stause cuts in. “I never said you were jealous, those words never one time came out of my mouth, never one time,” she says. “You know this is all on camera right? I didn’t just say that.”
The clip is tense throughout, but it's when Nuerk brings up Stause’s partner, G Flip, that things get really bad.
“What am I missing that happened when the four of us hung out in Australia that was not a nice time and I thought it was? What happened?” Stause asks, referring to a trip she, her spouse G Flip, Jason, Oppenheim, and Nuerk took.
After Nuerk complained that Stause didn’t ask her enough questions, she said that on the trip, G Flip was much nicer than Stause was.
“I really like G a lot, she’s so nice to me,” Nuerk claimed, misgendering the Australian musician and immediately drawing a reaction from Stause.
“Okay, my partner is nonbinary, they use they/them pronouns, this is a simple thing,” she said as Nuerk apologized. “This is the depth of our relationship, where the most important person in my life, you don’t know their pronouns. Which is totally fine, but my point is that you also don’t know me. I’m not gonna be your friend, like I don’t have anything in common with you.”
Stause has become the breakout star of Selling Sunset and she’s always been fast to stand up for her queerness, and her relationship with G Flip.
The two got married earlier this year in May after one year of dating. Stause first announced the relationship in a reunion episode of Selling Sunset back in May 2022, and this May, she posted on Instagram that she and G Flip had tied the knot.
“Love doesn’t always go as planned…,” she wrote. “Sometimes it’s immeasurably better.”
