The song, which had an exclusive digital release on Out in November 2024, tackles the never-ending pursuit of rejuvenation while acknowledging that the 1992 classic film starring Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn, and Isabella Rossellini is a camp classic among gay audiences.
Hilty, who plays Madeline Ashton on this Broadway adaptation, delivered a legendary performance on The Tonight Show that gave the gays everything we wanted, and then some! A dazzling song, fabulous costumes, and fierce choreography went along with a series of puns, stunts, and reveals expertly delivered by Hilty in the musical.
Featured in Out's January/February issue, director and choreographer Christopher Gattelli described the Death Becomes Her musical as a "gay dream come true." And if that still wasn't clear enough, Hilty's outstanding performance will certainly answer any questions. This is what we call an instant classic!
From Liza Minnelli to Julie Andrews (in Victor/Victoria) to Judy Garland (as Dorothy Gale in The Wizard of Oz, ruby slippers and all!), Hilty gave Broadway audiences yet another taste of what they're missing out in the Death Becomes Her musical.

They truly do it "For the Gaze," and the gays love them for it.
